32 Hour - Supported Scaffold

32-HOUR SUPPORTED SCAFFOLD ERECTOR / DISMANTLER COURSE

Course information:

This course is a requirement for an individual to install or remove a supported scaffold in New York City.

NYC Requirement:

To install or remove a supported scaffold in New York City, an individual must successfully complete this 32 hour training course.

Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to:

  • Identify the types, Nomenclature and Definitions of a Scaffold
  • Understand the different types of fall protection needed when working on a scaffold
  • Understand the permit requirements needed in order to comply with Chapter 33 or the Building Code.
  • Discuss and identity common supported scaffold hazards
  • Classify the Federal and City Scaffold regulations
  • Choose safe work practices at their construction sites based on prudent decision-making
  • Develop a basic knowledge of how to safely install and remove supported scaffold equipment.
  • Discuss differences between New York City Building Code and OSHA scaffolding regulations.

  • Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites needed to attend this course. Students must be able to verbally communicate with instructor in primary language of the training.

    Course Materials: This course consists of several different components which include power point presentations, lecture, real life case studies, class discussion and hands on demonstration. We will provide a student manual which will include Section 3314 on Scaffolds of the Building Code and OSHA 1926 Subpart L.

    Course Policy: Students must earn a 70% or more in their final exam in order to successfully complete the course. Upon successful class completion, students will receive a picture ID card certificate.

    Attendance Policy: Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities. Please contact us for the makeup policy. Students must bring a valid picture Identification to the class.
