SSP Plans required!

Starting November 6, 2017, any job that requires a Superintendent will require a Site Safety Plan.


Site Safety Plans will now be required for:

  • New Building Construction or Demolition (excluding 1,3,4 family homes)
  • Vertical or horizontal enlargement.
  • Any job for which Special Inspections are required for underpinning or protection of sides of excavations.
  • Removal of one or more floors over a 12 month period.
  • Alteration or demolition of more than 50% of the floor area of a building over a 12 month period. Int. No. 1448

    Fines of up to $10,000 may be issued for not having a Site Safety Plan.

  • NEW LAW!!

    March 1, 2018 – Every worker on a site requiring a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator, or Site Safety Manager must have at least a 10-Hour OSHA Card.

    December 1, 2018 – Every worker must have either a *"Site Safety Training" (SST) card, a limited SST card, or a temporary SST card.

    Every Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator, Site Safety Manager, Concrete Safety Manager or competent person must have a "Site Safety Training" Supervisor card (see complete law below).

    May 1, 2019 – Every worker must have a SST card or temporary SST card.

    -10-Hour OSHA AND 30 -45 additional SST credits, including 8 in Fall Protection.
    -30-Hour OSHA AND 10-23 additional SST credits, including 8 in Fall Protection.
