It is important to make sure that you have the required safety plans on site. This avoids violations and protects individuals and properties from potential injuries/damages. There are different types of plans required for jobsites other than the most common, which is a Site Safety Plan (SSP).

An SSP is required by the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) when a job requires a registered Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager. Buildings 9 stories and below, require a lowrise SSP, which does not need to be submitted to DOB for approval, but must be signed and dated by the preparer. If a building is 10 stories and above, this is considered a “Major Building”, and requires a high-rise SSP, which needs to be submitted to DOB for approval.
